INTER-LINGUA uses only qualified linguists for our face to face interpreting services which means that you can be certain that they will be of the very highest quality.

We provide two different types of interpreting services (you may choose whichever best suit your needs):

  • Consecutive interpreting
  • Simultaneous interpreting

Consecutive interpreting is the most commonly requested as it is the easiest service to arrange and set up and follow. In consecutive interpreting the interpreter waits until the end or near the end of the speaker’s sentence before interpreting.

Simultaneous interpreting is more involved in various aspects. First there is more set-up: headsets, microphones. This is ideal in situations where there are people present who speak many different languages. A common example of simultaneous interpretation is at such events as the UN conferences, and the interpreters are separated from the speakers and interpret and utilize special equipment. Simultaneous interpreters work in teams rotating every 20-30 minutes. Interpreters translate what the speaker is saying as they are saying it into a microphone, and the participant listens through headsets and depending on the set-up may be able to speak into a microphone for the interpreter to hear and respond.

INTER-LINGUA specializes in multiple interpretation services: legal, technical, website, and medical.
